The workforce is changing and attracting skilled workers is becoming increasing more difficult. Organizations need a sufficient number of trained and skilled employees to accomplish the work at hand and meet the demands of the future. It will be important that organizations are focusing attention on succession planning and developing employees to meet future needs.
This course will describe the 3 basic components of succession planning and how employee development plays a key role in an organization’s succession planning process, differentiate between short term and long term development planning and the importance of a knowledge transfer program, identify the key elements of an employee development plan including specific development activities, and apply what you have learned in creating individual employee development plans.
