| Program Description: |
Many organizations have embraced “Total Quality Management” (TQM). They have recognized that to survive in this world they have to constantly be striving to improve their products and services. For many, if they don’t, they will simply go away. While this may be more prevalent in private industry it has a great deal of relevancy for government as well. I think everyone will agree that empowering employees to improve processes to better serve our customers is something that every organization can benefit from. In this program we will:
• Review the quality improvements initiatives that have occurred in Appleton & Dallas Texas
• Discuss setting up a quality improvement initiative for an organization or a department
• Discuss process improvement
• Discuss picking projects for teams
• Discuss setting up project teams
• Review a problem solving model and discuss quality improvement tools
The format will be group discussion and lecture based with an opportunity for participants to bring up issues, concerns or ideas that they would like to discuss or share with other participants. We also encourage participants to bring policies, programs, forms, etc. on the topic at hand to share with other participants. The more we can learn from each other the stronger we all become. CVMIC has offered numerous programs in the past using this format and we have received a lot of positive comments from participants.
