| Program Description: |
This program is for new employees or employees who have not received any previous confined space rescue training. In order to participate in this program the employee must have previously attended the Confined Space Entry- New Employees (Awareness) classroom program offered by CVMIC. That program is being offered on Thursday, April 13, 2010. For more information on that program go to the CVMIC website.
This program will be conducted by the START Group and will focus on the OSHA Confined Space Entry Standard (CFR 1910.146). The material to be covered will include:
A Classroom and Manipulative Skills Entry Review Training Session - In the classroom training session they will review all of the critical aspects of OSHA 1910.146, along with the interface of these standards with their entry and rescue operations. The skills portion will involve entry into actual confined spaces.
Manipulative Skills Rescue Training Session - Completion of confined space rescues (involving both non-entry rescue and non-IDLH entry). These rescues will focus on non-entry rescue skills (retrieval and the inchworm system), along with non-IDLH entry rescue skills (patient packaging using both webbing and pre-made systems will be covered).
With this training, along with your organization's existing Hazard Communication training, all OSHA confined space entry minimum training should be met.
