How to Deal with a Problem Employee


This webinar series will be presented in two, 1-hour sessions.

Supervisors are expected to deal with and resolve problem employee situations. Often supervisors struggle with this because they lack the skill and training to effectively identify what is causing or contributing to the employee’s problems. Once a supervisor has successfully identified the underlying cause(s) for the performance issues it will be much easier to pick the right tool(s) and develop a plan to begin to resolve the problem.

Part I – In part one of this series we will be covering how to conduct a neutral feedback session and then how to complete a planning and analysis form if neutral feedback does not work. Using a case study we will also conduct a causation analysis to determine the possible reasons for the performance deficiencies. We will end part one of this series with a review of some of tools a supervisor can use in dealing with different employee performance issues.

Part II – In part two of this webinar series we will review how to script a meeting to deal with a problem employee based on the planning and analysis process that we followed in part one. Then continuing with our case study we will conduct a meeting with a problem employee and establish a follow up plan.
