Coordinating ADA - Title II (Part 2 of 2-part series) (Virtual)

Coordinating ADA - Title II (Part 2 of 2-part series) (Virtual)

March 12, 2026

This session focuses on Title II of the ADA, which applies to programs, services, and activities of public entities. Attendees will explore strategies for ensuring accessibility, handling requests for modifications, and coordinating compliance across departments. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a final rule requiring all state and local government website and mobile applications to comply with the ADA. Large public entities (serving populations of 50,000 or more) must meet these standards by April 24, 2026, while smaller entities have until April 26, 2027. This session will help participants understand the DOJ's web and mobile requirements under Title II. Additionally, participants will learn how to develop and implement a timeline for digital accessibility upgrades.

Presenter:

REBECCA RABATIN has over ten years of experience addressing accessibility compliance issues, serving as the ADA Coordinator for the City of Milwaukee and as a Community Access and Legislative Policy Analyst with Independence First. In previous positions with the City of Milwaukee, Ms. Rabatin worked as a project manager and building code inspector, ensuring compliance with building codes and accessibility standards. Ms. Rabatin is a founding member of the Wisconsin ADA Coordinators Association, and she also participates in the National Network of ADA Centers Training Leadership Network, which prepares leaders to provide vetted training materials developed by the network.
