“Representing yourself”: Professional Communication (Public Speaking)

Many individuals report that public speaking is a fate worse than death; in fact, the average American reports that public speaking is a top fear! As new leaders take on new responsibilities public speaking may become a skill that a leader must be comfortable with. With the right preparation and practice, public speaking is a skill that can be mastered.

After attending this program participants will be able to:

  • Understand the value of public speaking and explore applications for professional use
  • Effectively prepare for public speaking opportunities
  • Utilize and evaluate successful public speaking strategies after practicing with peers

This program will help create the skills and practice time needed to begin improving public speaking skills. Leaders can remove (or improve) public speaking anxiety by focusing on public speaking as a structured process.
