This course is designed to equip drivers with essential skills for safe vehicle operation. Defensive driving is a leading strategy to reduce work-related vehicle accidents.
Participants will learn the habits and mindset of a defensive driver, focusing on accident prevention and safe driving practices. The course covers:
- Pre-use vehicle inspections
- Speed and space management
- Visual screening and hazard recognition
- Managing driver fatigue and distractions
- Vehicle positioning, backing, and road rage prevention

Christian Green, CVMIC Safety & Risk Management Specialist
Christian joined Cities and Villages Mutual Insurance Company in February 2024 as a Safety & Risk Management Specialist. Christian earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Prior to joining CVMIC, Christian worked as the on-site Safety Coordinator for a manufacturing company for 4 years, then as a Safety Consultant for the private sector for 3.5 years where he serviced clients with all safety-related activities.
