Wisconsin Workers’ Compensation 101 provides municipal staff with a high-level overview of how workers’ compensation claims work in Wisconsin. This session covers the basic structure of the Wisconsin workers’ compensation system, what happens when a work-related injury is reported and a general overview of benefits and claim administration.

PRESENTER:

Sara Allen, CVMIC Workers' Compensation Claims Manager

Sara  joined Cities & Villages Mutual Insurance Company in February of 2025. Before this, she served as the Workers Compensation Claim Manager for Wisconsin Municipal Mutual Insurance Company until 2023. She was then promoted to Claims Manager, overseeing the Workers' Compensation and Liability Claim departments. Sara has over 20 years of workers' compensation claims experience. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2003. She also earned her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, Associate in Claims, and Associate in Management Designations. Sara advocates fostering a culture of service, emphasizing communication, teamwork, and positivity.
