Leaders often have few reservations about sharing praise with high-performing employees; however, it is often uncomfortable and difficult to have conversations that help push low-performing employees to improve. After attending this program participants will be able to: -Explore the value of appropriate feedback -Prepare for performance feedback using a framework -Practice preparing and delivering feedback -Improving performance-related feedback is a critical part of employee development, retention, and hiring. Law enforcement (and all municipal employees) faces a fast-changing online environment where the wrong social media post or online decision can create problems for you and your agency. Join Tim Styka (former Police Chief) and Andrew Taylor from CVMIC for the do's and don'ts of online behavior. This program will feature real case studies and examples from law enforcement agencies; however, all municipal employees are welcome to attend as the do’s and don’ts apply to all. As new leaders take on new responsibilities public speaking may become a skill that a leader must be comfortable with. With the right preparation and practice, public speaking is a skill that can be mastered. After attending this program participants will be able to: -Understand the value of public speaking and explore applications for professional use -Effectively prepare for public speaking opportunities -Utilize and evaluate successful public speaking strategies after practicing with peers This program will help create the skills and practice time needed to begin improving public speaking skills.
