The Village of Waunakee is CVMIC’s newest member effective January 1st, 2026!
The Village of Waunakee is a rapidly growing Village just north of Madison and is very near other Dane County members like Middleton and Sun Prairie.
The Village fits the CVMIC model perfectly! With a long history of well-managed risk and forward-looking leadership, the CVMIC membership should be pleased to have a strong new partner with Waunakee.
Additionally, Waunakee is known as the “Only Waunakee In the World” as they are the only municipality with the name. Depending on your source, the origin of the Native American word Waunakee either means “fair and pleasant valley” or “he lives in peace”. So if you find yourself in this fair, pleasant, and peaceful valley be sure to welcome the Village of Waunakee to the CVMIC family.
